WHITE LION GUITARIST VITO BRATTA WILL BREAK HIS SILENCE AND GUEST WITH EDDIE TRUNK ON THE RADIO!

2/9/07: I am thrilled to announce that one of my good friends, White Lion guitarist Vito Bratta, will join me live in the studio Friday 2/16/06 for the Q104.3/syndicated show! I have had so many emails and calls about this great guitarist over the years and Vito has not spoken to anyone in probably more then 15 years. He will be live in the studio with me, playing tunes, taking calls and giving away copies of the brand new 2 CD White Lion Best Of from Rhino. This really should be a special show that I know many of you are excited about. It is live on Q104.3 NYC from 11PM-2AM EST and will run on all affiliate outlets at the usual day and time (see Syndication for a list of all outlets). You can listen live online at www.q1043.com but only in the USA. If outside the US you can hear it online through the KNAC.com replays. Again, all info in Syndication. Do not miss this special show, another Eddie Trunk EXCLUSIVE! Don't get my show on YOUR local station? Let them know you want it!!!

Welcome to the Vito Bratta Tribute Page!

If your here, you probably already know who he is and what he's contributed to the music industry. Vito Bratta (not Vitto Bratta, Vito Brata, or Vitto Brata) wrote the best solos to come from the 80's rock era. It's not unexpected that Vito would develop a life long following of devoted lead guitar purists with an unquenchable desire to emulate the glorious brew of tones, harmonics and chops that defines Vito's unique style. Follow Vito and his career which, albeit short, left so many awestruck!

Vito Bratta- Lead Guitarist, Chief Songwriter

Vito Bratta (born July 1, 1961) was the lead guitarist and chief songwriter for White Lion from 1983 to 1992. Vito's original style, consisting of fluid lead lines, unorthodox rhythm playing, and complex melodic solos gained him a worldwide legion of dedicated fans, as well as numerous awards, including Guitar World magazine's "Best New Guitarist" in 1988. After White Lion Vito produced an album for the band CPR on Atlantic records. Despite his cult status and large guitar-based following, Vito has not been involved in the music industry in any capacity since 1994. According to a small piece in Guitar World magazine, Vito is said to now be "working with computers". Sources today report Vito's current interest is the real estate industry.

In 2003, Mike Tramp (former White Lion vocalist) attempted to reunite with Vito, but was unsuccessful. Tramp organized a group of unknown musicians and named the act "Tramp's White Lion", touring and releasing a live album Tramp's White Lion: Rockin' In The USA in 2005. Mike Tramp once stated that due to Vito's unwillingness to participate, "there will never be another White Lion reunion".

James Lomenzo, former bass player for White Lion, left the band with drummer Greg D'Angelo in 1992 due to "musical differences" and went on to play with Zakk Wylde in Pride and Glory and BLS. Currently James is the bass player for Megadeth.

Where is he now?

According to our sources Vito is still living in the Bratta family house in Staten Island and lives an unglamorous life by choice. He's a family man who doesn't seem to want anything to do with fame or the music industry anymore. His silence has made for some interesting rumors- he's a computer guy or works in a pizza shop, can't play music anymore because of a hand injury, is fat, etc. There may be truth to the injury report but it isn't clear that it's a lingering injury and he does still play guitar. He's definitely not fat, as can be seen in recent (2005) pictures. More updates to come soon.
